A Visit To Hauz Khas Fort

So today was the day when we finally started working on our assignment.

We went to Hauz Khas Fort for our research. It wasn't for the first time that we were going there but before this whenever we went there, we were always mesmerized  by the beauty of it, the whole view would just make us feel happy, the lake, the greenery around the area and what not.

But this time we came in terms with the reality. People have been littering around the whole area. They have been scribbling their names along with the names of their loved ones on the walls of the ancient monument. They don't understand the importance of this amazing piece of architecture and keep ruining it. When interviewed, they didn't even know who got this monument built and what was it's importance in ancient times. For them it is just a place to hangout with their friends, have fun, smoke, and have a picnic. Love birds can be seen all over the place.

We even talked to the care takers of that area about the condition of that area, how it was being spoiled and how two graves who possibly are of the king and the queen, were covered underneath a huge pile of leaves and most of the people don't know about it. They don't even know that those two graves actually exist!!!

The reply which we got from the care takers was " Just wait for 15 days, everything will be maintained now that the Kejriwal government has come to power".
There is a lack of dustbins in the whole area and the ones which are placed are not in good condition. And our dear fellow citizens don't feel the need to get up and walk to the dustbin and dispose the waste properly because the dustbins are kept too far away, who will take that much pain. So they just throw all the wrappers and waste material here and there. And most of them are the educated ones. If they don't understand this simple thing that it is all of us who can save ourselves and our surroundings then what is the use of such an education.

We intend to research more on this area and problems related to this area in the coming days and we will try to find a solution to these problems.
